Video presentation example
This is an example video web poster.
This video has been uploaded to YouTube as an ‘unlisted’ video that does not show up in YouTube search results.
Style guide
- The presentation should be within 5 minutes length
- (acknowledgements and references slide not included in this limit).
- This may be presented as a pre-recorded short oral presentation, but other video presentation styles are allowed. You will be judged on your statistical methodology, clarity and how engaging your presentation is.
Recording suggestions for slideshow-style videos
- If using Microsoft PowerPoint, you may use the Record Slide Show feature. (or see below for screen recording)
- When done, go to the File menu then Export. (may be different for older versions)
- Windows: Select Video at either Full HD or Ultra HD.
- Mac: Choose MP4, and may use “Presentation Quality”.
- Either upload to YouTube yourself (or another video service), or share the file using Dropbox or other appropriate means to ysmurdoch@gmail.com
- When done, go to the File menu then Export. (may be different for older versions)
- For PDFs and PowerPoint, you can record the screen:
- Capture
- Windows: Game Bar (built-in) or Free Cam
- Mac OS: QuickTime Player
- Zoom, by “having a meeting with yourself” and screen recording.
- Uploads to YouTube may be set to ‘unlisted’, meaning they do not appear in search results on YouTube.
- You may trim using YouTube Studio, or other nonlinear video editing software.
